Bureau Introduces Combined Visitor and Heritage Trail Guide

Resource allows for exploration of all visitor-friendly aspects of Cumberland County

December 2017

Fayetteville, NC – In October, the Fayetteville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (FACVB) introduced “Discovering America’s Hometown,” a guide which highlights traditional aspects of interest to a visitor with a guide to Cumberland County’s Cultural Heritage Trails.

“We found that a majority of our leisure visitors are interested in the history and heritage of the community,” said FACVB President and CEO John Meroski.  “In light of that information, it only made sense to combine two visitor resources into one comprehensive guide.”

The FACVB designed the guide with two mirrored covers, one for each content area. Approximately one-half of the 140+ page booklet provides traditional visitor guide information – events, hotels, restaurants, arts and recreation opportunities.   When the piece is flipped the user can browse through details on all 17 Cultural Heritage Trails.  Trail themes include African -American History; All-American Adventure; Patriots, Past & Present; Gaelic Beginnings; Religious Freedom and a Fish & Game Trail.

The Cumberland County Visitor/Trail Guide is printed on glossy paper and is filled with engaging photos of visitor experiences. In the Trail Guide, users will find a detailed history of each trail theme, along with a history of each site on the trail and turn-by-turn directions to navigate between sites.
